Summer soccer camp has a different feel this year with the World Cup being held in North America.

Brian Osborne, Camp Organizer(Marywood University) says, “ We have so many kids that are aspiring to play the game and learning the game, and I think it’s pretty cool with the tournament on our home soil, that these kids have something to not only come out here and play and watch, but go home and they’re watching 4 or 5 games and it’s great. It’s great atmosphere.“

Ellia Yankovich, West Pittston added, “I think it’s very, like, very cool for it to be in the United States and for like, everyone, like, come together because everyone’s so excited about it because it’s like in our area. “

Mila Trently, South Abington Township says, “ I think when we like when the USA plays, that is so cool, like they were saying at the game that the stadium shook and everything. “

This soccer camp held this week in Scranton is just one of many in our area that teaches the game and techniques.

Axel Bosley, Scranton says, “ I’ve enjoyed this camp and I’ve learned that to just have fun with the ball and be free with it. “

“Love how, like, you can, like, shoot. It’s like you can’t pick up the ball. Okay, what about you guys? Okay. I love my like, you kick the ball and, like, fun. And, It’s good being like, It’s like, cool being the goalkeeper, and it’s cool playing soccer. “

Ide asks, What do you like about this camp?

I like about this camp that that we did a lot of shooting drills, a lot of dribbling during games, during scrimmages, says Jacob, Micah, & Joshua.

This three day soccer camp at Riverfront Sports in Scranton has come to a close, but the players will continue to play the game they love and root for their favorite team and players.
