A Wildwood teen and a Philadelphia man were arrested and charged in connection with an assault that injured three people in North Wildwood, authorities said.
The suspects have been identified as Alpacino Carrero, aged 20, and a 17-year-old boy whose name has not been released.
North Wildwood police responded at about 1:15 a.m. June 22, 2026, to the area of 13th and Central Avenues after a report of a fight in progress.
At the scene, officers found three injured adults, according to authorities. The victims were taken to Cooper University Hospital Cape Regional. One victim was unconscious after being struck with a bottle, officials said.
Prosecutors said the suspects initially fled the scene but were later identified and arrested following an investigation.
Carrero was charged with second-degree aggravated assault and second-degree conspiracy to commit aggravated assault.
The 17-year-old was initially charged with second-degree aggravated assault, second-degree conspiracy to commit aggravated assault and third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, according to prosecutors. On June 23, authorities added charges of first-degree robbery and a second count of second-degree aggravated assault.
Under New Jersey law, a first-degree conviction carries a potential prison sentence of 10 to 20 years. Second-degree offenses are punishable by five to 10 years in prison, while third-degree offenses carry penalties of three to five years.
Authorities said there is no ongoing threat to the public. The investigation remains active.
