Assembling Your Patriotic Basket is easy and fun. Here’s how to craft your stars, stripes and blooms basket. Choose a basket with a flat back and bottom. Firmly pack the inside with a block of Styrofoam to secure the materials. Cut your florals to about 8 to 10 inch stems (if your basket is smaller make the stems smaller). Start the arrangement by inserting the large blue hydrangeas, then mix in the red roses or poppies, and follow with the white roses or peonies. Fill any gaps with assorted textured ferns so the arrangement looks festive and full. Insert three small American flags on one side, and balance the design by adding a large, festive patriotic bow on the opposite side.
