Temporary lane closure slowing traffic on I-81 northbound in Lackawanna County

DUNMORE, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — Motorists traveling through Lackawanna County should expect delays Monday afternoon as a temporary lane closure remains in place on Interstate 81 northbound.

According to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, the right lane is closed between the President Biden Expressway interchange (Exit 185) and the Dunmore/Drinker Street exit (Exit 186) as part of ongoing construction in the area.

The closure began Monday and is expected to remain in effect until approximately 4 p.m.

PennDOT is advising drivers to consider alternate routes if possible and to use caution while traveling through the work zone.
