SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man has been charged after police say he broke into a Scranton home to kidnap a 3-year-old and a woman.
James Media is facing various charges for allegedly entering a home, assaulting a man, and threatening to kill him unless he allowed Media to kidnap a woman and her 3-year-old.
On June 27, the Scranton Police Department was called to the 1300 block of Penn Avenue for a possible kidnapping and assault.

Investigators stated Media entered the home during the early morning hours, assaulted a man who lived there, and threatened to kill him unless the woman and her 3-year-old left with him.
Media then took the victims from the scene against their wishes and dropped them off at a residence in Dickson City, where the two were found safe, officers reported.
