BENSALEM TWP., Pa. – A train derailed in Bensalem Township on Tuesday afternoon, according to local police.
The Bensalem Police Department says fire, EMS, and hazmat teams responded at around 2:47 p.m. to a derailment involving 5 to 10 freight cars between Street Road and the Neshaminy Falls Train Station.
Hazmat personnel deemed the area safe, and authorities lifted the shelter-in-place order as of 4:53 p.m. Officials say there is no threat to the public, and all residents may return to their homes and businesses.
