Pittsburgh Allderdice graduate Tristan Taylor remembered after fatal shooting

A recent graduate at Pittsburgh Allderdice was fatally shot in Pittsburgh’s East Hills neighborhood Tuesday evening. Tristan Taylor was a 2026 graduate of Allderdice. Police say an argument broke out on Wilner Drive when gunfire erupted on Tuesday. Taylor was hit in the abdomen. Responding officers immediately began providing first aid to the victim but the 18-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 10 p.m.Now, Taylor is being remembered by his school as a quiet, friendly and respectful. Taylor had recently graduated with honors from Pittsburgh Allderdice, participated in the Start on Success program at the Omni Hotel and had planned pursue business at CCAC this fall. A statement from the school said, in part: “Those who knew Tristan describe him as the kind of student who could befriend anyone. He was always willing to listen, support others, and make those around him feel seen, whether he had known them for years or had just met them. Pittsburgh Public Schools cares deeply about the devastating impact gun violence has on our students, families, and community. Our hearts are with Tristan’s family, friends, classmates, and the entire Pittsburgh Allderdice school community during this incredibly difficult time.”
