OBITUARY
Robert Bob O ‘Malley, 84, of Moscow, passed away peacefully on Sunday at Geisinger Community Medical Center following an illness.
He is survived by his loving wife, the former Joan M. Donahue. The couple was married on September 9, 1977, and shared nearly 49 years of marriage.
Born on January 10, 1942, in Scranton, Bob was the son of the late John and Mary (Ruane) O’Malley.
Bob was a graduate of West Scranton High School and attended Kings College . He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1964 to 1966.
Before his retirement, Bob was employed by The Scranton Times. He was an active member of the Moscow Fire and Hose Co. Bob especially enjoyed gardening and took great pride in tending to his yard. He also cherished the companionship of his faithful dog, Louie, who was rarely far from his side. Bob was an avid Norte Dame fan!
In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his daughter, Erin O’Malley, and her husband, Ross Homentosky, Eynon; his brother, Joseph O’Malley; his sisters- and brothers-in-laws Marguerite & Dominick Famularo, Thomas & Kristine Donahue, and Dorothy O’Malley; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas O’Malley; his in-laws , Marguerite and Jerome Donahue; and his brother-in-law, Jerry Donahue.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Duffy & Snowdon Funeral Home, 401 Church Street, Moscow. A blessing service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Moscow Fire and Hose Co. or T2T.org
