The Wawa Welcome America Salute to Independence Semiquincentennial Parade start time has been moved up by one hour on Friday, event organizers told NBC10.

The parade will now start on July 3 at 11 a.m. because of the extreme heat, officials said.

This comes days after the route was shortened from the planned 2.4 mile length to just one mile.

The Salute to Independence Semiquincentennial Day Parade, as well as the National Constitution Center honoring Pope Leo XIV with the Liberty Medal will be held on Friday, July 3, 2026.

And, on July 4, 2026, the One Philly: Unity Concert For America to Commemorate America’s 250th Anniversary will be held on the Ben Franklin Parkway.

NBC10 will be the only station to air all three events.
