(WHTM) — The big-box club retail store, Costco, recently acquired a liquor license for one of their Pennsylvania stores.
According to documentation by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB), Costco recently acquired a liquor license from Houlihan’s for their store at 1050 Cranberry Square in Cranberry Township, Pa.

The license’s status is “active” and was issued on July 2, 2026.
In addition to obtaining this liquor license, the Costco Wholesale Corporation also has their eyes towards offering alcohol sales at two other Pennsylvania stores.
Per the documents, one license obtained by Costco for their store at 201 Allendale Road in King of Prussia, Pa. has a current status of “safekeeping.” This license was last issued back on Tuesday, June 30.
Lastly, Costco currently has a third liquor license “pending” for their store at 100 Veterans Way in Warminster, Pa.
abc27 News reached out to Costco for more information on other stores that they plan on pursuing liquor licenses for, but did not hear back at the time of this publication.
According to Costco’s website, they are a multi-billion dollar global retailers with warehouse club operations spread across eight countries. The company was first founded back in 1976, opening its first store under the name ‘Price Club’ on Morena Boulevard in San Diego, California.
