Gayle Grocki
OBITUARY
Gayle Grocki, 69, of Scranton, died unexpectedly on Sunday, June 28 th , at Geisinger Community Medical Center. She and her husband, Jerry Grocki, would have celebrated 52 years of marriage this year. Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Esther Kilvitas Snopek. A 1974 graduate of Scranton Technical High School, Gayle was an nurse at Moses Taylor Hospital early in her career and later at Mountain View Care Center.
Everybody loved Gayle. She was a giver: she made it her mission to improve the lives of those around her. Gayle put everyone else’s needs before her own, and would drop everything to help a friend in need or a patient in her care. Her generous spirit and beautiful smile touched countless lives. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is also survived by twin daughters, Nicole and April; two sisters, Michelle Ortiz and Karen Stevinsky and husband Steve; three grandchildren: Keira Ford and partner Connor Deacon, Liv, and Sadie Kenosky; and a great-granddaughter, Everly Deacon; five nieces and nephews: Carol and Daivd Weidow, Genee, Jille and Dane Ortiz; and her beloved cats, Charley and Ernie.
Friends and family will gather in her memory on Tuesday, July 7th, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Neil W. Regan Funeral Home, 1900 Pittston Ave., with a memorial celebration at 6 p.m.
