PLAINS, LUZERNE CO. (WOLF) — A Scranton man is facing multiple charges after Pennsylvania State Police say he returned to a Luzerne County casino after being banned, refused to leave and allegedly assaulted an officer during his arrest.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Gaming Enforcement, troopers responded to the gaming floor at Mohegan Pennsylvania, 1280 Route 315 in Plains Township, at about 1:40 p.m. Thursday for a report of a banned individual who had returned to the casino and was refusing to leave.

Police identified the man as Edward Froncek, 53, of Scranton.

Investigators said Froncek allegedly attempted to strike an officer and actively resisted as officers took him into custody. Plains Township Police assisted at the scene.

Froncek was charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, trespassing, false identification to law enforcement and disorderly conduct.

He was arraigned through Magisterial District Court 11-3-08 and committed to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility.

The charges are allegations. Froncek is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
