Dick Waters, a Sun City resident, hated to read. He dreaded English class, avoided books whenever he could and only started picking them up because his job demanded it. Then, in 2008 during his battle with cancer, he discovered Danielle Steel’s romance novels and never turned back.
Now, 18 years later, he has written 10 books spanning multiple genres. He said he’s very comfortable writing in different styles.
“It’s not so much the different genres,” Waters said. “It’s more give me a picture, I’ll write a story.”
