I was just going through the comments on today’s Linc post and there was a discussion about how many sacks Greenard could end up with this year. His personal best is 12 and the thought was that he could exceed it. I replied back that he has the potential to do it but his biggest obstacle might be his own teammates getting to the QB first.
Which got me thinking about how many guys on the team could set their own personal best for sacks in a season, if our defense is as good as we think it will be this year. In addition to having good pass rushers, we could end up with a lot of coverage sacks this year, thanks to our three CB’s. Here are the personal bests for the top guys at edge and DT:
Greenard: 12
Hunt: 6.5
NSmith: 6.5
Ekibetie: 6
Epenesa: 6.5
Carter: 6
Davis: 4.5
Ojomo: 6
How many do you think will set their personal best in 2026? I say 6. Everyone but Ekibetie and Epenesa. That might be a tad optimistic, but it’s early July and our defense looks loaded right now.
