SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — The Lackawanna County Area Agency on Aging has announced three additional distribution dates for its 2026 Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program, which provides eligible older adults with vouchers to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables from participating farmers markets.
To qualify, applicants must:
Be a Lackawanna County residentTurn 60 or older during 2026Meet the program’s income guidelines
For 2026, the annual household income limits are:
1 person: $29,5262 people: $40,0343 people: $50,5424 people: $61,050
Eligible seniors will receive five $5 vouchers, providing a one-time benefit of $25 for the program year.
Vouchers will be distributed in person only, and participants must present a valid Pennsylvania photo ID. Distribution ends early if the available voucher supply is exhausted.

Saturday, July 11: South Side Farmers Market, 526 Cedar Ave., Scranton, from 10 a.m. to noonTuesday, July 14: Taylor Community Center, 700 S. Main St., Taylor, from 9 a.m. to noonThursday, July 16: Throop Senior Community Center, 500 Sanderson Ave., Scranton, from 9 a.m. to noon
Seniors who cannot attend in person may designate a proxy to pick up vouchers on their behalf by completing a proxy form. Forms are available online or can be requested by calling the Lackawanna County Area Agency on Aging at 570-963-6740, ext. 1444.
