Later that day, around 3:30 in the afternoon, police responded to gunshots in the 1900 block of Chestnut Street.

Witnesses said there was a domestic-related argument between three individuals. While two of those people were leaving, the third person fired shots at their car and now has a warrant out for their arrest, facing multiple charges.

The last incident happened sunday around 4 a.m. near East 22nd and Wallace Streets. When police arrived on the scene, they collected a large amount of shell casings but didn’t find anything that had been hit.

“The next day we were able to recover a vehicle; it was a rental vehicle from one of the local rental agencies. That they stated that the vehicle was returned to them and the vehicle had been shot multiple times with a handgun,” said Rick Lorah, the deputy chief of the City of Erie Police Department. “We do have some shots fired recently of the same caliber over the last few weeks that were going to definitely look at and see if they are related, obviously want to get those guns off the street.”

All three incidents were received through their ShotSpotter network.
