BUTLER TWP., Pa. – The Pennsylvania State Police trooper who lost his life in the line of duty last week will be laid to rest Wednesday.
The funeral for Trooper Michael Pahira Jr. will take place at North Schuylkill High School in Butler Township.
Visitation will go from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., and the funeral will follow at 11 a.m.
State police said there will be heavy traffic volume in the area, including Route 61, with delays expected throughout the day.

Pahira was killed last Wednesday when he was hit by a truck on I-81.
The Department of Homeland Security says the driver has been living in the U.S. illegally.
