Lackawanna College is announcing its official merger with Pierce College, based in Philadelphia.
SCRANTON, Pa. — Lackawanna College says it has received final approval to merge with another school based in Philadelphia.
The school announced its plans in 2024.
Lackawanna College leaders say the merger with Pierce College is complete. It’s now the largest open-enrollment private nonprofit institution in the state, with more than 8,000 students.
