An investigation is continuing after strong winds pushed the Victorian Princess into a dock along Erie’s Bayfront Thursday night.
The incident occurred around 9 p.m. near Dobbins Landing, when emergency crews responded to a distress call from the vessel, which was carrying nearly 100 passengers at the time.
According to officials, powerful winds forced the Victorian Princess into the dock, causing minor damage to the vessel. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among passengers or crew members.
There was encouraging news Friday, as the U.S. Coast Guard inspected the vessel and determined it remains structurally sound allowing for the Victorian Princess cruise again.
Passengers onboard described tense moments as the boat was impacted by the strong weather conditions, but quick action by the crew and first responders helped ensure everyone’s safety.
