ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Just because it’s Monday, doesn’t mean there’s nothing to do here in the valley!
The Da Vinci Science Center for one, has tons of fun new things to check out, and today it’s Big Movie Monday.
Executive Director and CEO Conor Hepp said “having fun and engaging with families is what we do.”
Director of Marketing and Sales Tamara Krizek said Big Movie Mondays feature theatrical movies, with In and Out 2 playing on the big screen Monday at 11 a.m. Kids can snack on popcorn and candy while sitting on bean bag chairs.
Tom Prostko, Operations Team Member and ice cream making guru, said on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays the Da Vinci Science Center holds Scoop on Ice Cream live science shows. He featured liquid nitrogen when making ice cream Monday morning. Liquid nitrogen is used to freeze ice cream quickly. That can get the dessert to-321 degrees Fahrenheit, Prostko said.
The event will feature activities associated with the movie.
Therapy dogs and their handlers from the Lehigh Valley International Airport will be on hand to teach people about how the dogs help others with their mental health and ease passengers’ stress while they are traveling. That’s all part of incorporating the themes of the movie into the day’s activities.
While people are at the museum, guests can also visit the museum’s new exhibit that shows the science and technology behind the impressionist era. As part of the exhibit, kids can learn how to paint, draw, and connect with art.
Guests can create their own flowers at the exhibit’s “Painter’s Garden.”
