Residents can look forward to exciting improvements at Picnicana Park as a major playground renovation project gets underway this summer.
Construction is scheduled to begin on August 3, and the playground will be closed for the remainder of the 2026 season while renovation work is completed. The project is designed to enhance the playground experience for families and provide updated recreational opportunities for years to come.
During the closure, families are encouraged to visit the Community Park playground, located south of the municipal building off Old French Road, which will remain open throughout the construction period.
To help expand play opportunities at that location, some playground equipment currently at Picnicana Park will be relocated to Community Park as part of the renovation project.
The Picnicana Park playground renovation project is being made possible through financial assistance from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), helping to invest in the community’s recreational resources and outdoor spaces.
