BERKS COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — A Berks County man is in custody and is facing charges in connection with the reported sexual abuse of a 7-year-old boy, according to the district attorney’s office.
Matthew Anoka, 31, was arrested shortly after a July 7 arrest warrant was issued, according to a Wednesday news release.
In May 2026, Berks County District Attorney’s Detectives received several referrals from the Department of Human Services claiming a 7-year-old was the victim of sexual abuse.
After a forensic interview with the child in question, the victim said that Matthew Anoka, 31, of Reading, sexually abused him and showed him explicit videos and pictures.
Further investigation showed the abuse reportedly happened in April 2026 at a home on the 100 block of Commonwealth Boulevard in Kenhorst Borough.
An arrest warrant was issued Tuesday, and Anoka was later taken into custody.
