We’re live in Lancaster where starting tomorrow, Lancaster County property owners can start to appeal for their property reassessments that were happening earlier this year. Now for that process, the appeals office or the assessment office is asking that if you are planning to appeal, make sure that you’re comparing your property to similar properties in your area. Anyone that is looking to appeal can get that application in before August 3. Suss township school district leaders in Dauphin County say education funding in the state budget will help it hire more teachers and provide more training for staff. Now Superintendent Doctor Tamara Willis says their biggest challenge is still overcrowding in schools. With average class sizes of more than 30 students, some children are still learning in hallways and trailers. Now Doctor Willis says while the district can’t expand its buildings right now, it plans to use additional funding to bring more staff into the classroom to support students. Good morning. You have 66 dew point temperatures in the low 60s, so *** little bit of *** sticky feel, but they’ll be going into the mid-60s later today, pushing that heat index value close to 100. So look at. Our high. It’s 96. It’s going to feel like 100 in some spots this afternoon and then even at 9 o’clock at night, it still could feel like the low 90s, just not really cooling off very much. Tomorrow is the peak of the heat and humidity. Look at our high 99. That’s the record tomorrow, and it’s going to feel like the low 100s, *** heat advisory in effect for all counties tomorrow. Here’s another look at our pin camera in Dauphin County. This is Route 322 between Hershey and Hummelstown, smooth sailing if you ask me. I’ll give you an update on your morning commute in just *** few minutes. The Pennsylvania Defense and Innovation summit starts today in Carlisle, Cumberland County. President Trump is scheduled to speak at the US Army War College tomorrow. That’s where the summit is happening. US Senator Dave McCormick is the one putting on this event. It’s to highlight Pennsylvania’s investments in defense. So today, Senator McCormick and Representative Scott Perry, whose district does include Carlisle, are set to speak. Also, Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Kane will speak at the event today, and *** protest is planned for the president’s visit tomorrow. Protesters say they’ll be meeting at Biddle Mission. Park in Carlisle, then marching with signs to the Carlisle Square and back. They say this will be starting tomorrow morning at 11 o’clock. Today in Lancaster County, Pendot is holding *** hiring event that’s set to start in about an hour at 8 this morning, runs till 2 this afternoon at the Lancaster County maintenance office on Lincoln Highway East. Pendot is looking for CDL operators, maintenance help, and also *** diesel and construction mechanic. And here’s *** look at your forecast for the Stewartstown Carnival over the next couple of days. The heat index today, it’s going to be near 100. Same deal on Thursday. Tomorrow though, the peak of the heat and humidity, even though the carnival starts in the late afternoon, you know, evening hours, it’s still going to be. In the 90s, so take your heat precautions. It’s been *** hot July. Here’s the 10 day forecast. We have impacts all the way through Thursday. After that, the heat does break, the humidity falls *** bit on Friday. That’ll be *** nice treat. Rain chances increase this weekend, especially Saturday, for some scattered storms.
