HARRISBURG, Pa.- Rep. Donna Scheuren (R-Montgomery) announced the Franconia Township Sewer Authority will receive nearly $2.5 million in state funding for wastewater system improvements.
The funds will reduce long-term costs and improve affordability, the Pennsylvania House of Representatives said in a news release.
The project will include installing a new 15,010-foot low-pressure sewer main to provide public sewers access to 131 homes that are using on-lot disposal systems, according to the release.
The Pennsylvania House of Representatives said the installation will be tied to current infrastructure and convey the wastewater to existing treatment facilities.
The project is expected to reduce nutrient loading to the Indian Creek, according to the release.
The low-interest loan will be provided by the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority, according to the report.
“This project is a forward‑thinking investment in our community’s health and environmental future,” Scheuren said.
