Erie Police are continuing to investigate a late-night shooting that left one man critically injured on the city’s west side.
The shooting happened around 11 p.m. near West 32nd and Poplar streets.
According to police, officers found a 58-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his arm, leg, and torso. He was transported to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Investigators say the suspected shooter fled the scene in a vehicle before officers arrived.
Police recovered a large number of rifle shell casings from the scene. As of now, no suspects have been taken into custody.
The investigation remains ongoing.
