St. John’s Russian Orthodox Cathedral: Mayfield, will hold its annual flea market Sept. 18-19. Parishioners will accept used but not abused merchandise. No clothing will be accepted. Small appliances that work, jewelry, books, games, collectibles, purses, knick-knacks, toys in good condition, small pieces of furniture, lamps, etc. will be accepted. Jermyn Veteran Banners: Project sponsored by the Jermyn Shade Tree Commission is ending. Veteran banners will be displayed one last time honoring them for their service to our country at the 250th Birthday Celebration on July 19 at Rippy Callahan Park, Mellow Court, Jermyn. At the end of the evening at 8 p.m., they will be taken down and given to those who purchased the banner. Those who cannot attend should contact the borough office afterward for the banners.

Browndale Fire Company sporting arms or cash raffle: Throughout August, the winning number will match the “Pick3” lottery number of the first drawing of the Pennsylvania evening lottery. Each day participants will have the chance to win the daily prize of either a shotgun, rifle, cross bow or inline and the winner has the choice of the sporting arm or the cash value as stated on the ticket. Donation is $25 with tickets available from any Browndale Fire Company member, by calling 570-785-5300 and leaving a message or through the Browndale Fire Co. No.1 Station 43 Facebook page. Winners will be contacted by phone or mail. All sporting arms may be upgraded at the winner’s expense. Winners must comply with all firearms regulations, otherwise they must take the cash value for that day. All sporting arm prizes must be claimed by the winner at Heberling’s Sport Shop in Prompton by Oct. 3.
Forest City Regional class of 1976 reunion: Golden anniversary event will be held Aug. 15. Attendees are encouraged to bring memorabilia and photos and to participate in a group photo. Moscow Country Street Fair: 10th anniversary celebration, July 23-24, 4 to 9 p.m., and July 25, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., downtown Moscow. Theme is Hometown Roots and Cowboy Boots. Jessup Pub Crawl: Beginning at noon, Michael Steiner American Legion Post 411, 508 Church St. This year, Pub Crawl shirts are capturing the 150th anniversary of Jessup and will feature the GREENWAVE design. Join the group as they travel through the designated tavern course wearing beach outfits to capture the spirit of the theme. Donation of $20 will benefit “Operation Noel, Phase II,” Jessup Borough Christmas Street Lights. Participating taverns are Jessup Legion, Jessup VFW, B&G Winery, Jessup Side Bar, St. George’s Restaurant and ending at Jak’s Pub and Eatery. Jermyn America’s 250th Birthday with Annual Concert in the Park: Jermyn Borough is celebrating America’s 250th Birthday, in conjunction with the Annual Free Concert in the Park at Rippy Callahan Recreational Park, Mellow Court. Event starts with a parade at 1 p.m. (lineup, 12:15 p.m., at Jerome Drive), traveling down Washington Avenue to Gibson Street, and ending at the Rippy Callahan Recreational Park. At Callahan Park, activities scheduled are vendors, historical displays, contests, prizes, food trucks and family activities. Music entertainment provided by The Jones, 2 to 3 p.m. and 4 to 5 p.m.; Gary Snipes, 3 to 4 p.m., and The Wannabees, 6 to 8 p.m. Bring a chair or blanket. Event will be held rain or shine.
