A woman has been hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle in an incident that was causing traffic slowdowns along I-76 in Center City Philly on Thursday morning.
According to Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small, a lane restriction was in place along I-76 eastbound after a woman was struck along the roadway at about 1:30 a.m., between the exits from Market Street and Haverford Avenue and Spring Garden Street.

Early Thursday, NBC10’s cameras captured traffic moving slowly through the area as drivers were moved into one lane ahead of the morning rush hour.
Asked about the crash, Small said a woman was taken to a nearby hospital after being struck while walking along I-76, and she was considered stable at the scene by first responders.
However, he was unsure of her condition after she was hospitalized and he was not able to provide further details on what may have led to this incident.
As of about 5:15 a.m., the incident was still impacting traffic and officials did not say when the scene might be cleared and the lane restriction removed.
But, an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
