COOPERSBURG, Pa. – More than four months after a storm ripped off part of its roof, a popular restaurant in Lehigh County will welcome back customers with a tasty promotion.
The New Santiago’s Restaurant, a family-run eatery offering freshly prepared dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, is set to reopen on July 27 at 125 S. Third St. in Coopersburg, according to an announcement on the business’ Facebook page.

The restaurant, which opened in 2018, has been temporarily closed since a March 16 store after strong winds partially ripped off its roof and caused other damage to the property.
“The time has finally arrived!” the online announcement reads.
“… Thank you all for your continued love and support. We truly appreciate our community and can’t wait to welcome you back.”
After months of remodeling, the Santiago’s team is excited to welcome back the community with a new menu and the “same friendly service you’ve always loved,” according to the announcement.
Fresh-squeezed orange juice also will be available.

To celebrate the restaurant’s reopening, the owners are holding a grand opening raffle.
Individuals who like the business’ Facebook page, share the reopening announcement and comment below the post will have a chance to win one of five $25 gift cards.
Five winners will be announced on Aug. 2.

In 2018, Octavio Nunez Zavaleta and Maria Cerezo opened The New Santiago’s Restaurant, which family members took over a few years ago.

In 2024, Zavaleta and Cerezo also opened La Cocina de la Abuela, a restaurant offering authentic Mexican cuisine, at 127 N. Third St. in Coopersburg, next door to The New Santiago’s Restaurant.
La Cocina de la Abuela, which means grandma’s kitchen in Spanish, also was damaged by the March storm, but reopening details for that restaurant have not yet been announced.
The New Santiago’s Diner offers breakfast dishes (available all day) such as omelets, pancakes, French toast, eggs Benedict, huevos rancheros, avocado toast and breakfast sandwiches, burritos and quesadillas.
Lunch and dinner options include appetizers such as chicken wings, pierogies and fried pickles; melts such as a French dip, reuben and patty melt; and platters such as lasagna, meatloaf, pork chops, prime rib, chicken croquettes, chicken Marsala (over choice of pasta), broiled or fried crabcakes, open-face turkey or roast beef, shrimp scampi and stuffed flounder.
Other menu highlights include a wide array of soups, salads, burgers, gyros, wraps, club sandwiches, paninis and steak subs.
