PITTSBURGH, Pa. (WTAJ) — A teen reported missing from Louisiana was allegedly found in the basement of a Pa. residence, according to the Pittsburgh Special Victims Unit (SVU).

Ki-Shawn Crumity, 26, of Pittsburgh, was arrested Oct. 31, after agents with Pittsburgh’s SVU, who were also part of an FBI task force, received information from U.S. Marshals that a missing Louisiana teen may be located at a residence in the city.

Pittsburgh SWAT executed a search warrant in the 1200 block of Davis Avenue, where Crumity was allegedly living.

According to the criminal complaint, when searching the residence, agents found the teen girl in a sheet-covered box in the basement. While the age of the girl wasn’t released, police noted 26-year-old Crumity was 11 or more years older than her.

The teen alleged she began talking with Crumity over Snapchat and he offered to help her get adopted by a “trusted adult.” According to charging documents, the teen made her way to Washington, D.C., where she met another woman who asked if she needed help. The teen said the two then traveled together to Pittsburgh.

According to detectives, the teen alleged that the three of them would sleep in the same bed in the basement of the residence and that Crumity sexually assaulted and raped her at least once a day for the past week that she was there.

While at the hospital, the teen told detectives it was the safest she’s ever felt, according to charges.

The woman who allegedly met the teen in D.C. has no known charges pending against her, according to the Pennsylvania court system. It’s currently unknown if charges will be filed.
