(WHTM) — If you have Pennsylvania American Water, your bill won’t be going up as much as the company had initially sought.
The Mechanicsburg-based company originally sought a 15% increase of their water rates to bring in an additional $143.4 million in revenue.
The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission approved a 4.75% increase, or $45.2 million Thursday by a 4-1 vote.
Pennsylvania American Water serves about 810,000 customers in 38 counties and had last sought a rate increase in 2023.

The additional revenue, the company said, will be used to support critical infrastructure improvements including replacing aging infrastructure, expanding PFAS treatment, and continuing efforts to eliminate lead service lines.
