Crews work overnight to fix a water main break on Mulberry Street in Scranton.

SCRANTON, Pa. — Crews have been working overnight to repair a water main break along a busy street in scranton. The water main broke just after 9 last night at the intersection of Washington and Mulberry Streets in the city.

Mulberry Street is currently closed from Wyoming Avenue to Adams Avenue.

About 35 customers are affected. Including the Scranton Fire Department headquarters.

Fire Chief John Judge says, “For any fire suppression efforts, we have contingency plans in place that if we needed to, we could bring in tankers if there’s any water shortage in the area due to the hydrants being out.”

We’re told city hall is not affected by the water main break.

According to the PA American Water website, the break is supposed to be fixed by 8 o’clock this morning.
