The official Pennsylvania World Cup Fan Zone returns to the Lackawanna County Courthouse Square in downtown Scranton on Saturday and Sunday with thousands expected for free live concerts, local food trucks and a massive 13-by-29-foot live broadcast of the World Cup Final.

Family fun
Beyond the matches, attendees can check out the Kids Zone, test their footwork at the soccer skills clinics on a custom turf field, and try out an LED soccer simulator.
Eye on the sky
Fans will need to keep a close eye on the skies this weekend. The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has issued a statewide Code Purple air quality alert due to dense wildfire smoke drifting down from Canada and Minnesota. Because these conditions are considered “very unhealthy,” fans are strongly encouraged to check AirNow.gov for real-time updates and consider taking precautions such as wearing masks or limiting exertion if the heavy smoke lingers into the weekend.
On the weather front, Saturday will bring highs near 79 degrees with afternoon clouds and a chance of late thunderstorms, which could potentially disrupt the Bronze Final watch party. Sunday looks much more cooperative for the World Cup Final, offering scattered clouds, highs around 80 degrees and better outdoor viewing conditions.
