Rock & Rescue brought live country music to the Warner Theatre Friday night, all in support of homeless pets at the Erie Humane Society.
The Erie Humane Society and Erie Events teamed up to present Rock & Rescue, blending a summer concert with a mission to help animals in need.
The evening opened with a performance by Small Town Revolution, warming up the crowd inside the Warner Theatre before the night’s headlining entertainment.
Organizers say every ticket sold helps fund medical care, shelter, and adoption services for pets waiting to find permanent homes.
“It’s very expensive to care for animals at the shelter, so we use those funds for vaccinations, spaying and neutering, and overall care. Keeping them healthy and getting them ready for their forever homes is our goal,” said Peggy Schneider, interim director of the Erie Humane Society.
Organizers hope events like Rock & Rescue not only provide entertainment for the community but also raise awareness about the needs of shelter animals and the resources required to care for them until they are adopted.
