The Crayola Experience in Easton, Pennsylvania, marked its 30th anniversary on Friday, July 16, with a daylong, colorful celebration that invited visitors of all ages to participate in hands-on activities such as airbrushing and drawing.

Festivities were originally scheduled to take place outdoors but were moved indoors due to poor air quality from the recent Canadian wildfire smoke, according to a WFMZ-TV 69 News report.

Attendees included families, summer camps, local officials, and small-business owners.

During the event, guests were able to meet their favorite Crayola characters, enjoy a DJ event and games, participate in science experiments, color, and engage in other creative activities.

Abby Dentner, marketing and sales manager of the Crayola Experience, noted the significance of 30 years for the brand. “Thirty years is important to celebrate. Thirty years is monumental. Crayola has been around since 1903, so for our experience to be celebrating 30 years, that’s huge. So we wanted to go big,” she told WFMZ.

On Thursday afternoon, July 15, Crayola officials held a birthday ceremony in the cafe, featuring remarks from state and city leaders, local representatives, and Crayola’s president and CEO.
