BERKS COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — A Reading man is facing charges in connection with the reported sexual abuse of a 13-year-old girl in January, according to Berks County detectives.
After further investigation, Michael Sanchez, 31, was charged with:
Aggravated assaultCorruption of minorsEndangering welfare of childrenIndecent assault
Following a forensic interview at the Berks County Children’s Alliance Center, the victim told investigators Sanchez sexually abused her and showed her explicit videos and anime.
Further investigation found the assault reportedly happened at a home on South Second Street.
An arrest warrant was issued for Sanchez on July 16 and, according to detectives, he surrendered the next day at the Berks County Sheriff’s Department.
He was booked into the Berks County Jail and is being held on a $100,000 bail.
A hearing for Sanchez is scheduled for 1 p.m. on July 31.
