SCRANTON/WILKES-BARRE (WOLF) — The Lackawanna County Coroner’s Office has identified the man who died after a shooting in West Scranton over the weekend.
Coroner Tim Rowland said Clinton Thornton-Hill, 39, of Scranton, died from a single gunshot wound to the abdomen. The coroner ruled the manner of death a homicide.
Thornton-Hill died Friday evening in the emergency department at Geisinger Community Medical Center after being transported there by emergency medical personnel.
Authorities said he was found unconscious in the 300 block of North Hyde Park Avenue following the shooting.
An autopsy was scheduled for Monday.
The shooting was first reported Friday afternoon. At the time, the Lackawanna County District Attorney’s Office described the incident as an isolated shooting and said there was no ongoing threat to the public.
The Scranton Police Department is leading the homicide investigation. Investigators have not announced any arrests or identified a suspect, and police have not released additional details about what led to the shooting.
