The 30th annual “Corn and Clam Slam” in Lackawanna County attracted hundreds for a day of food and fun.
MAYFIELD, Pa. — Long-standing summer traditions were on full display today in Lackawanna County as firefighters rolled up their sleeves for some hard work at the 30 th annual “corn and clam slam.”
The beloved summer picnic hosted by William Walker House Company in Mayfield saw hundreds of attendees treated to savory corn and clams, along with live entertainment.
“It benefits William Walker Hose Company, it’s our biggest fundraiser of the year…We have corn, we have clams, and a lot of ethnic foods,” said Tom Jugan, William Walker Hose Company.
A portion of the proceeds will go towards equipment, training, and vehicle maintenance for the fire company.
