An Allentown teen died in a scooter crash Monday morning in the city.
Kenneth Aristizabal, 18, was riding a gas scooter, traveling west from Wabash Street onto South Race Street about 7 a.m. when he apparently tried to cross over Trout Creek, where there had once been a bridge, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio said.
The scooter did not clear the creek embankment, and crashed head-on, the coroner said. Aristizabal was pronounced dead at the scene.
His cause of death was multiple blunt-force trauma, with the manner accidental. Allentown police are investigating.
