18-year-old dead after gas scooter crash near Trout Creek in Allentown | Allentown Area

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio said a man is dead after a gas scooter accident near Trout Creek in Allentown.

Kenneth Aristizabal, 18, of Allentown, was pronounced dead on Monday at 7:11 a.m. at the scene near the 320 block of West Brookdale Street, Buglio said in a news release.

Reportedly, Aristizabal was traveling south on a gas scooter from Wabash Street onto South Race Street in an apparent attempt to cross over Trout Creek at the location where a bridge previously existed, Buglio said.

Buglio said the scooter failed to clear the creek embankment and crashed head-on, resulting in fatal injuries.

According to Buglio, the cause of death is multiple blunt force trauma, and the manner of death is accident.

Aristizabal was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, Buglio said.

In addition to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office & Forensic Center, the Allentown Police Department is investigating the incident.
