The stage is set for the summer high school football all-star tradition.
On Wednesday night, the County all-stars will face the City all-stars in the 92nd Scranton Lions Club Dream Game at John Henzes/Veterans Memorial Stadium at 7 p.m. The showcase is the final scholastic competition for graduated seniors who were standouts last fall in the Lackawanna Football Conference.
The County is riding a six-game winning streak in the series and leads all-time, 44-42-4.
Lakeland quarterback and Lackawanna College commit David Naniewicz leads the County this season. He will start and lead an All-Region backfield that includes Delaware Valley fullback Justin Estevez and running back Mike Iuzzolino.
Abington Heights’ record-setting receiver Gavin Anders and teammate Cayd Sespico, a tight end, are also two All-Region players in the County starting lineup. Old Forge record-setter Chris Rasmus will be the other receiver.
The County roster has only eight linemen available, so there will be a steady rotation of players up front on both sides of the ball. Delaware Valley’s Chris Renna and Old Forge’s Jake Lucarelli are the tackles. Honesdale’s Logan Dietrich and Valley View’s Niiko Hazelton are the guards, and Mid Valley’s Robert Mattioli is the center.
On the defensive side for the County, Sespico is at end, and Estevez is at linebacker. Both were All-Region selections on defense last season.
Western Wayne’s Paul Borowski and Landon Visceglia are starters on the defensive line, along with Sespico and Riverside’s Madden Sandly.
Joining Estevez at linebacker are Riverside’s Max Jackson and Ny-Jai Scott-Holt, and Mid Valley’s Jake Bondy.
Lakeland’s Gavin Roberts, Abington Heights’ Rocco Sarafinko, and Mid Valley’s Wyatt Youngblood are in the secondary for the County.
For the City, which last won in 2018, Lackawanna Trail running back Isaac Ryon leads the offense. He had an LIAA record-setting senior year in 2025, with 2,876 yards on 201 carries and 49 touchdowns, and total touchdowns in a season with 54 and points in a season with 354.
Lackawanna Trail teammate Tyler Jervis is the only quarterback on the City roster. Holy Cross fullback Leland Wudarski will start at fullback.
Wallenpaupack’s Mason Gonzalez and Scranton Prep’s AJ Croom and teammate Sean McCormack, a tight end, are also in the starting lineup for the City.
The City has good size up front. Scranton Prep’s Anthony De Los Santos and North Pocono’s Dylan Caster are the tackles. North Pocono’s Warren Kramer and Wallenpaupack’s Tyler Gallo are the guards, and Susquehanna’s Chris Serra is the center. That group averages 258 pounds.
Lackawanna Trail’s Blake Stage, an All-Region player, and North Pocono’s Seamus Maguire are the starting defensive ends. North Pocono All-Region standout Cole Zimmerman and Holy Cross’ Branden Fadl are the tackles.
North Pocono’s Aiden Maguire and Wallenpaupack’s Logan Caruso are the outside linebackers, and Scranton’s Jonathan Mrozik and Lackawanna Trail’s Colin Owens, an All-Region selection, are the inside linebackers.
Lackawanna Trail’s Sean Dwyer and Wallenpaupack’s Izael Rodriguez are the corners, and Scranton Prep’s Mackey Lynett will start at safety.
