Woodland Hills School District appoints new interim superintendent
PITTSBURGH —
The Woodland Hills School District appointed a new interim superintendent Wednesday night.

During a meeting, the school board approved Denise L. Sedlacek to become the interim superintendent, with eight votes “yes” and one abstention.
“We are excited to welcome Ms. Sedlacek to Woodland Hills,” Karen Lyons, president of the Board of School Directors, said in a release. “Her extensive experience, collaborative leadership style, and unwavering commitment to student achievement make her exceptionally well suited to lead the district during this transition. We look forward to working together to continue building on the district’s strengths and creating new opportunities for our students, staff, and families.”
The announcement comes months after the district suspended Joe Maluchnik and placed him on unpaid leave.
