In Dunmore and three Midvalley boroughs, Democratic mayors appear on their way to reelection over Republican political newcomers, with 161 of 163 precincts reporting countywide.
Dunmore
Dunmore Mayor Max Conway appears to be defeating Republican Josh Perrins. Conway has 3,747 votes to Perrins 1,004.
“I’m thankful to the residents in Dunmore for their support,” Conway said. “The result shows that people believe in the direction that we’re heading. And I’m excited to keep working and moving forward.”
Conway said his top priority is revitalization. “I think we have some really cool projects we’re working on and I want to see a lot of those start coming to fruition, especially in our downtown.”
Perrins said he had an “amazing” conversation with Conway Tuesday morning.
Perrins previously said he never felt he had support from the county Republican Party. He works for a Monroe County location of Sanofi, a multinational pharmaceutical firm.

In Archbald, Democratic Mayor Shirley Barrett is leading Republican Cynthia Snyder. Barrett has 1,722 votes to 1,328 for Snyder.
Dickson City

In Dickson City, incumbent Bob W. MacCallum appears to be leading write-in Republican candidate Mellody Bielawski. MacCallum thanked voters for their support. MacCallum holds 1,324 votes to 560 for Bielawski.
Olyphant

In Olyphant, Mayor Jonathan Sedlak is leading Republican Lauren Telep. Sedlak has 1,220 votes to 557 for Telep.
