George A. Eber

OBITUARY

George A. Eber, 91, of Williamsburg, VA and formerly of East Stroudsburg, passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 26, 2026. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, wisdom, and a life exceptionally well-lived.

Born on August 11, 1934 in Scranton, George spent his 91 years building a vibrant life centered around family, hard work, and faith as a member of Our Lady of Victory Church in Tannersville. He was known for his sharp mind, gentle demeanor, and uncanny ability to make anyone feel welcome, and baking his delicious cheesecake. George was also very handy and if it broke, he could fix it.

George worked as a book binder in the printing industry in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey and retired to his beloved Pocono Mountain home.

He loved to root for the Philadelphia Flyers and the NY Giants as those were his teams. But his one passion was bowling and he was always looking to have that perfect game. He enjoyed reading mystery novels or simply the company of friends. His devotion to his family was his greatest pride. He enjoyed his last year at Brookdale Senior Living, where he made many new friends and had fun participating all the activities. He loved all music, particularly country music, and would amaze all by singing along knowing all the words to the songs with visiting performers.

George was proceeded in death by his father, George and mother, Esther Berger; his son, Donald (1988); his first wife, Mary Ann ONeill (1997); and his second wife, Anna Mae (“Goldie”) Ward (2016).

He is survived by his son, Robert and wife Trina of Williamsburg, VA; grandsons Brian and wife Shauna of Wilmington, NC, Michael and wife Brandy of Cape May Courthouse, NJ and David and wife Kaitlyn of Leesburg, VA; great-grandchildren Adam, Jonathan, Matthew, Eli and Amelia; a half-brother, James Eber; and a half-sister, Beverly Eber.

George’s life will be celebrated on Friday, July 24th, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. A time of visitation with family and friends will begin at 10:30AM and be followed by a Catholic prayer service at 11:30AM. Following the service, burial will take place at Laurelwood Cemetery in Stroudsburg.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity.
