The countdown is officially on for this year’s Erie Gives campaign.
Thursday morning, the Erie Community Foundation announced the return of the annual Day of Giving on Tuesday, August 11.

Organizers said this year’s bonus bucks pool has grown to more than $637,000, for an even larger share of bonus funding on top of community donations and helping cover all online fees so every dollar donated goes directly to participating nonprofits.
This marks the 16th annual Erie Gives campaign, which encourages the community to support local organizations through a full day of giving back.

“Some people don’t realize that nonprofits impact everything you do every day, from taking care of our children and our seniors, education, fire departments, sports; nonprofits touch every part of our lives and make our community a better place,” said Karen Bilowith, the president and CEO of the Erie Community Foundation.
