Pittsburgh Passion chase Franco Harris trophy in national title game Saturday
STOWE TOWNSHIP, Pa. —
The Pittsburgh Passion women’s football team is headed back to the national championship game on Saturday in Canton, Ohio.
The Passion are aiming to win the fourth title in team history and claim the Women’s Football Alliance championship trophy, which is named after Franco Harris, for the first time since the Steelers legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer died in 2022.
“He was one of our owners, and so special to us,” Passion co-owner and head coach Teresa Conn said about Harris. “Nothing would make us happier than to hand Dok and Dana and our ownership team, all of them, Tony, John, everybody — to hand that Franco Harris trophy over to them would warm our hearts.”

Conn credited the team’s leadership on and off the field and their coaching staff for the Passion’s success this season.
“I can’t give enough credit to the players. They’re humble. They’re hungry. It’s humble greatness. It’s just what Franco and all of our leadership team would want to represent,” Conn said.
The Passion will face the Minnesota Vixen in the finals at 2 p.m. Saturday at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium. The women are confident in their ability to bring the title home to Pittsburgh.
“Our ability to adapt, and continue to just prepare for what we may or may not see,” Passion quarterback Makai Chavez said.
“They have that humble greatness. They’re humble, they’re hungry, they’re willing to put in the work, they’re willing to earn it,” Conn said. “As a coach, you can’t ask for any more than what these women have been.”
