Peter Amato DeLeo
OBITUARY
Peter Amato DeLeo, 88, of Bechtelesville, PA, died Friday morning at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital.
Born in Olyphant, he was the son of the late Carmen and Rose Covino DeLeo. Amato was a graduate of Olyphant High School and was employed at US Steel and McCaffertys Food Market prior to retirement. He was a US Army Veteran.
He was a kind and loving brother, uncle and cousin, who will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his sister, Mary Ricken, MI; his nieces and nephews, Samuel DeLeo Jr. and wife Doreen, Archbald, Karen and Ron Kramer, MI, Rosemary DiLeo, MI and John and Deborah DeLeo, FL; his grand-nieces and grand-nephews, Jena and Bryan Morris, Erika DeLeo, Staci DeLeo, and Jessica DeLeo; John and Shanna DeLeo; cousins Robert and Arlene Kontura, Olyphant.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Samuel DeLeo Sr. and Angelo Charles DeLeo; a sister-in-law, Grace DeLeo.
The funeral will be on Monday with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at Christ the King Parish, St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Archbald. Interment will follow at Dunmore Cemetery with military honors. Viewing hours will be held on Monday from 9am to the time of Mass at the church. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Louis Margotta Funeral Home.
