Jeannette S. DeSantis, 93, of Temple, passed away Monday, July 20, 2026 at St. Joseph Medical Center.
She was the widow of Emidio DeSantis who passed away in 2007.
Born December 30, 1932, in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Oyler and Dorothy (Koch) Oyler.
Jeannette attended Muhlenberg High School and later obtained her GED. She then attended Albright College for two years where she studied accounting. During her working years she was employed by Sam’s Club as a manager and then at Jeanette Boutique.
In Jeannette’s free time she could be found shopping in stores, catalogs, or online for almost anything under the sun. When Jeannette wasn’t shopping she enjoyed spending time outdoors. She would go hiking at Hawk Mountain, bird watching, traveling when she could, and enjoyed the peacefulness of the ocean. She especially enjoyed watching fireworks and treasured the simple pleasures of nature and time spent with her family.
She is survived by four children: Mary Jo (DeSantis) Ober, wife of Paul of Mooresville, PA; Vicki (DeSantis) Furillo, wife of Jon of Reading, PA; Lynne (DeSantis) Corl, widow of Donald; and Emidio DeSantis Jr., husband of Dionna (Drumheller).
Also surviving are five grandchildren: JJ Furillo; Anthony Furillo; Michele Lombardo; Karl Ober; and Nick DeSantis.
Jeannette leaves behind four great-grandchildren: Payton Furillo; Juliette Furillo; Gianni Furillo; and Camille Tunnell. She was predeceased by her grandson, AJ DeSantis.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at the Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., Laureldale, 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, PA 19605. A visitation will be held prior at the same location from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital or Wounded Warrior Project.
