Charges have been filed against a Philadelphia police officer who was off-duty when he was involved with a deadly shooting at a home, according to the Pennsylvania State Police.

The 25-year-old suspect, identified by authorities as Kenroy Cummings, drove away from the scene in an orange-colored 2023 Kia Forte, troopers said.
At one point, troopers said they saw the Kia near Race Street and Airport Road in Hanover Township so they turned on their emergency lights.
Once the lights were on, Cummings fled in the Kia away from the troopers, officials explained.
Troopers continued to chase the Kia until Cummings ultimately went back to the house, according to state police.
This is when the troopers were able to take Cummings into custody, officials said.

Neighbors in Allen Township – who wanted to remain anonymous – told NBC10 the man who was shot and killed was Officer Cummings’ uncle. The neighbors claimed the uncle got into an argument at the home with Officer Cummings’ siblings. They said Officer Cummings – who was off-duty at the time – was then called to the home due to the escalating situation.
Police have not confirmed those details, however, and continue to investigate.
