Around 9:00pm Sunday night emergency crews responded to a reported fall from a cliff near the Girard Fire Department and Locust Ln. Scanner reports indicate a woman fell nearly 40 feet down a steep embankment.
Firefighters and EMS personnel from Lake City, Fairview, West Ridge, and Lakeshore worked together in a challenging rescue, carrying her to a waiting medical helicopter. She was airlifted to a trauma center. Her condition has not been released, and the incident remains under investigation. We’ll continue to bring you updates as more information becomes available.
