READING, Pa. – First responders and road crews jumped into action during the heavy thunderstorms that occurred this afternoon, which left a trail of damage.
Firefighters in Reading say they had to rescue five people from a car that got stuck in floodwater around 1:15 Tuesday afternoon.
The incident occurred at the Spring Street Subway.
Crews on scene say one of the victims was a child who went to the hospital as a precaution. Everyone rescued is expected to be OK.
The area tends to flood when a lot of rain comes down, so fire officials say drivers shouldn’t take chances driving through floodwater.
